AAS Degree Program
The Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies is designed to prepare individuals for entry into the healthcare field. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
The curriculum provides a strong foundation in the sciences and basic clinical skills and knowledge necessary for successful employment as a PAs. Students also develop clinical reasoning, communication, leadership and management skills as well as professional ethics. Students will have the opportunity to complete clinical experiences in several different healthcare settings including hospitals, rural clinics and urban clinics in Arizona (AZ) metropolitan areas.
Program Outcomes:
Students will demonstrate competency in all aspects of patient care including history taking; performing physical examinations; ordering diagnostic tests; evaluating data from diagnostic procedures; counseling patients on health related issues; administering medications prescribed by physicians; and assisting with surgery when appropriate. In addition they will be able to read and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays as well as interpret EKGs, electrocardiograms etc., perform venipunctures; draw blood samples; perform minor surgical procedures such as suturing simple wounds etc.; provide first aid including CPR Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
