[Connecticut (CT) Auctioneers Learning Course] Auctioneer Education Classes are available for those who wish to be licensed as an auctioneer. The classes are offered by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection's Division of Licensing Services.
There are two types of auctioneer licenses available: a General Auctioneers License and an Appraisal Service License.
The General Auctioneers License is required if you wish to conduct auctions in Connecticut and apply for a Federal Tax ID number (EIN). If you do not wish to conduct your own auctions or have an EIN, then you may opt for the Appraisal Service License.
To qualify for either license, you must complete a course of study that includes at least 30 hours of classroom instruction over a minimum of four weeks at one time. You will also need to pass an exam administered by the state's Department of Consumer Protection. Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn.
