The South Dakota Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) is a professional who has demonstrated knowledge of chemical dependency, meets national certification requirements and is competent to provide services in the field. The CCDC I course is an intensive 40 hours of training covering all aspects of professional practice with clients who have substance use disorders. This course will prepare clinicians for state licensure as a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) Level I and for national certification as a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC).
The CCDC I course covers all areas of clinical practice including: assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group treatment, relapse prevention, working with families and organizations, legal issues, professional ethics and regulations. This course also includes didactic instruction on client-centered techniques and cognitive-behavioral interventions for treating substance use disorders. Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
