The South Dakota Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) Learning Course is a mandatory course that all CNPs and NPs must complete prior to submitting an application for licensure. The course must be completed by the end of the calendar year in which you were approved by the Board.
This online self-paced course consists of eight modules with approximately 20 hours of content. The modules include information regarding advanced practice nursing and current issues in health care including: ethics and law; pharmacology; assessment and diagnosis; treatment planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation; physical assessment; mental health nursing; health promotion/disease prevention; and nutrition/self-care management. Each module includes interactive activities that test your knowledge and reinforce concepts presented in each section. At least one hour of continuing education credit is earned for each module completed with a passing grade (70%). You will be notified when you have successfully completed each section and can print a certificate upon successful completion. Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
