The South Dakota Real Estate Commission issues a license to practice real estate brokerage to individuals who have successfully completed the required courses. The purpose of this course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pass the state examination. Students must complete each course in order, but there is no limit on how many times you can take each course.
The South Dakota Real Estate Commission requires that all licensees complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years. This includes 15 hours of core topics and 15 hours of electives. Core topics include ethics, agency relationships, law related topics and disclosures. Elective topics are determined by each licensee's needs or interests. You may use your own materials for your electives as long as you have proof that you attended the class or seminar (e-mail confirmation from the instructor).
