The South Dakota Board of Veterinary Medicine is responsible for the licensing and regulation of veterinarians in the state. The board operates under the authority of the South Dakota State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners Act, which was enacted by the state legislature in 1931. This act authorizes the board to establish standards for veterinary practice, issue licenses to qualified applicants, and investigate complaints against veterinarians.
The board consists of seven members appointed by the governor with consent from the senate. These members serve four-year terms and may be reappointed once for an additional four years. The governor also appoints two alternate members who serve during their absence or disability. The current members include: Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
