The Geologic Resources Division of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is offering a Geologist License Learning Course. The course will be taught by Dr. Richard A. Young, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Young is currently conducting research on the geology and paleontology of the Paleozoic stratigraphy of northern Alabama, southern Tennessee and western North Carolina. He has studied the Mississippian and Pennsylvanian stratigraphy in many parts of North America including Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado, Utah and Washington State as well as Alaska's North Slope. He also has interests in paleontology, stratigraphy and petroleum geology which has resulted in publications on these topics. In recent years his research has focused on Devonian strata in eastern Tennessee where he has been involved with studies on Mississippian-Devonian cyclothems, coal resources and their relationship to tectonics along with field work on Devonian rocks in several areas of eastern Tennessee; this work was funded by grants from NSF's EAR/GEOP program (EAR-9515940). License Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
