Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been used for over 2,000 years. Acupuncture is based on the theory that there are invisible channels of energy called meridians that run through the body. These meridians are connected to specific organs and systems of the body. By placing very thin needles at specific points on the skin, an acupuncturist stimulates these channels to release blocked energy and restore your health and balance. In this course you will learn the theory behind acupuncture, how to perform acupuncture techniques safely and effectively, how to properly place needles into the body, when and how to adjust treatment based on patient response, how pain can be reduced using acupuncture techniques and what other benefits acupuncture can offer you in your practice as an acupuncturist.
This course is offered as part of our Vermont Acupuncture License Training Program which allows you to practice within Vermont once you have completed all requirements including passing an exam given by our instructors.
