[Vermont Asbestos Worker Learning Course] The Vermont Asbestos Worker Learning Course is a two-part, four-hour course that meets the requirements of 30 V.S.A. § 651(b) for asbestos worker certification for individuals who perform asbestos abatement work as defined in 15 V.S.A. § 2601(9).
The course includes information on how to recognize asbestos hazards in buildings and structures; how to protect yourself from exposure to asbestos during routine maintenance and repair activities; how to remove asbestos containing material (ACM); how to handle ACM safely; when it is appropriate to encapsulate or otherwise leave ACM undisturbed; the proper disposal methods for nonfriable and friable materials (including waste disposal sites); and an overview of recordkeeping requirements related to asbestos abatement activities including air monitoring results.
