Vermont Midwife Learning Course

[Vermont Midwife Learning Course] The Vermont Midwife Learning Course is designed for anyone who wishes to become a certified midwife in Vermont. The course is offered free of charge by the Vermont Midwifery Education Consortium, a statewide non-profit organization founded in 1996 to support and promote midwifery in Vermont.

The course consists of classroom lectures, workshops, self-study and clinical rotations. It meets Vermont's requirements for certification as a direct entry midwife and provides a foundation for further education in midwifery.

The Vermont Midwifery Education Consortium has developed this course with the goal of meeting the needs of students who would like to become certified direct entry midwives in Vermont. The course is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills that they can use immediately upon graduation. Students receive hands-on experience throughout the course and complete their clinical rotations at various sites throughout the state.
