This course meets the requirements of the State of Washington to obtain a license as a dietitian. It is also accepted as meeting the education requirements for certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association and by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The course includes:
-An overview of nutrition with an emphasis on disease prevention
-The role of food, nutrition and physical activity in growth and development from birth through adolescence
-An introduction to basic medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
-Food safety, sanitation and foodborne illness prevention
-Principles of food preparation including baking, cooking, sautéing, stir-frying and boiling; cheese making; canning; freezing; preserving; pickling; dehydration; deli salads; salad dressings; dips; sauces; soups; broths; stocks and bouillons; breads and yeast breads including bagels, buns, rolls, English muffins, pizza crusts & pita breads Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
