The Washington State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers provides this course to assist you in becoming a funeral director. This online program is not a substitute for the educational requirements of the Washington State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers. The following information must be included in your application for licensure:

High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion, or equivalent from an accredited college or university. You must submit either a copy of your diploma or certificate with your application for licensure. If you do not have any formal education beyond high school, you must submit a letter from an employer attesting to your experience and ability to perform funeral service functions.

Proof of completion of the National Conference of Funeral Service Exam or National Association of Mortuary Science Examination within five years prior to your date of application for licensure as a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
