Washington State University has been on the forefront of occupational therapy education since 1913, when it was one of the first to offer an associate degree in occupational therapy. Today, the program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), and offers a one-year, full-time course of study leading to the A.S. in Occupational Therapy degree. Our graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as occupational therapists’ assistants or in other occupations that utilize their skills as occupational therapists’ assistants.

The program is designed to develop students’ abilities to meet identified needs of persons with disabilities through assessment, intervention, treatment planning and evaluation of client performance in vocational rehabilitation, acute care or long term care settings. The curriculum includes courses in anatomy and physiology; assessment; intervention; caseload management; group dynamics; mental health issues; case presentations; human growth and development; leadership and management; research methods; ethics; legal issues; documentation guidelines; community resources; wellness concepts; career development opportunities in health care settings as well as personal characteristics necessary for successful careers as occupational therapists’ assistants Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
