[West Virginia (WV) Dental Hygienist Learning Course] The West Virginia Dental Hygienist Practice Act, W.Va. Code §30-1D-4, requires a dental hygienist to be licensed by the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners before practicing dental hygiene in the state.

The Board recognizes the completion of a West Virginia accredited dental hygiene program as evidence of meeting the educational component of licensure requirements.

West Virginia has no restrictions on where in the country you can complete your education. However, all applicants must have completed their education within the last five years and be currently practicing in good standing with their state board of dentistry or licensing agency.

You must submit a completed application, official transcripts from each school attended, and proof that you are currently licensed by another state board of dentistry or licensing agency with jurisdiction over dental hygienists (if applicable).
