West Virginia (WV) Mine Safety and Health Act. The West Virginia Mine Safety and Health Act, W.Va. Code §§ 22A-1-1 et seq., requires that all persons who enter a coal mine in this state, whether they are employed by the operator or not, must receive training approved by the director of the Bureau for mine safety and health in order to obtain a miner’s certification card. The act also requires that all persons who possess such cards must carry them while they are working in a coal mine.

In addition to being required to carry their cards while working underground, miners must undergo periodic refresher training on the recognition of unsafe conditions, procedures for reporting unsafe conditions or equipment problems, and appropriate use of protective clothing and equipment.

The purpose of this program is to provide operators with an opportunity to meet these requirements by providing training through a certified trainer/instructor who has been trained by the Bureau for mine safety and health or its designee Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
