The West Virginia Board of Medicine has developed the Osteopathic Physician Learning Course (OPC) to help students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to begin practicing as a physician in West Virginia. The OPC is designed for students who have completed their osteopathic medical education and are preparing to apply for licensure by examination.

The OPC consists of:

A review of the history, philosophy and principles of osteopathic medicine. This section also includes an introduction to the philosophies of other health care professions, including naturopathic medicine.

A review of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) techniques and protocols associated with various musculoskeletal conditions.

A discussion of osteopathic medical diagnosis and differential diagnosis, including laboratory investigations, imaging studies and electrodiagnostic procedures. This section also covers diagnostic criteria used by various insurance companies when approving or denying claims for reimbursement for diagnostic testing.

An overview of physician responsibilities under state law with regard to reporting communicable diseases and other reportable conditions to public health authorities. Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
