Students must be a minimum of 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent and successfully pass the exam. If a student fails the exam they may take it again after five days. If they fail the second time they can retake it once more in six months.

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture requires that all workers who apply pesticides must complete an approved pesticide applicator training course and register with the state before obtaining a license to apply pesticides. The state also requires that workers keep their license current by completing continuing education courses every three years. Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn.
