The West Virginia (WV) Steward Learning Course is a program of study for individuals who are interested in becoming certified as a Residential or Commercial Building Steward. The course is designed to provide an overview of the building science professions and will enable students to understand how buildings work, how they fail and how to prevent future failures.

The curriculum includes four courses that provide instruction in building science, mechanical systems, energy conservation and green building practices. The classes are taught by subject matter experts from various disciplines within the building industry and include guest speakers from other professions such as engineering, architecture and construction management.

The goal of the program is to provide students with a broad understanding of all aspects of residential and commercial construction so that they can perform quality workmanship on any project they may encounter in their future careers as residential or commercial stewards.
