West Virginia (WV) Teacher Learning Course
[West Virginia (WV) Teacher Learning Course] West Virginia's Teacher Learning Course is a one-year, non-residential program designed to prepare candidates to teach in the state. Candidates who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply for licensure. The course is offered through West Virginia University's College of Education and Human Services, and features a blend of online coursework, field experiences, and professional development sessions.
The program consists of three segments:
Professional Development in School Settings. This segment includes classroom observation, mentoring, and coaching sessions as well as community-based field placements at schools throughout West Virginia.
In-Class Instructional Experiences. Participants attend face-to-face classes on weekends at designated sites across the state. The program uses a flipped classroom model that has students completing their assignments prior to coming in for class so that instructors can focus on helping them master material during class time. In addition to lectures and other traditional classroom activities, participants will also participate in project-based learning activities that require them to apply what they've learned in real-world settings.
Online Coursework. This segment consists of online classes that provide additional instruction on topics such as school leadership and administration; instructional methods; assessment strategies; classroom management techniques; educational technology use; Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
