Wisconsin's guide dog training is available in three locations: Madison, Milwaukee and Appleton. The program is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully train a guide dog for one of our clients. You will learn how to work effectively with your dog, whether it be in harness or off-leash. You will also gain experience working with a wide variety of clients, including those who use wheelchairs or other mobility equipment. As part of this course you will spend time observing experienced trainers working with a client in order to gain an understanding of the position and responsibilities involved in being a guide dog team.

The course consists of both classroom study (3 days) and hands-on training (6 days). During the classroom portion we teach you how to train your dog so that it can perform basic obedience tasks such as sitting, staying, walking on leash and coming when called. We also teach you about canine behavior so that you can understand why your dog acts the way it does and what motivates it.

During the hands-on portion of the course, you will get experience working with other students on their own dogs as well as with our professional trainers who are trained in teaching people how to help their dogs become successful License Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. The platform provides all the required material for the students to study. The material includes Study guide, Exam Questions & Answers, Study Notes and other resources that are useful for the students. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
