The Wisconsin physical therapist licensing law requires that all applicants for licensure be graduates of a Physical Therapist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The degree must be from a college or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The applicant must have completed a minimum of two years (4 semesters) of full-time study in an accredited program to be eligible for examination. All applicants must comply with the educational requirements and pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) and submit proof of having successfully completed all parts of this examination as required by FSBPT.
