Course Description:

The Wyoming Cosmetology Learning Course is a nationally recognized program that provides students with the essential knowledge and skills to practice as a cosmetologist. The curriculum covers all of the necessary content areas including safety, sanitation, and infection control. Students will also learn about different hair types, hair care products, skin care treatments and facial treatments. Students will also develop their knowledge of business-related topics such as customer service, marketing strategies and business management. Upon completion of this course students will be able to successfully answer questions on the state board exam in Wyoming.

This course is designed for students who already possess a high school diploma or GED certificate (or equivalent). This course does not include instruction in manicuring or pedicuring services or hair care for natural hair textures (African American, Asian or other ethnicities).

Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:

Demonstrate safe work practices in the salon setting.

Explain how to apply basic makeup techniques for everyday wear and special occasions.

Explain how to properly cleanse the face and neck area using proper products and techniques.

Explain how to identify clients' needs for basic skin care procedures such as facials and peels Learning Course is a platform that helps students to study and learn. It also gives information about the upcoming exams so that students can prepare themselves accordingly.
