The Wyoming Occupational Therapy Assistant Learning Course is designed to prepare you for an entry-level career in this field of health care. Upon completion of this program you will be eligible to sit for the national certification exam to become an OTA (Occupational Therapy Assistant).
You will learn how to provide occupational therapy services that help people develop, recover or maintain the skills needed for everyday living and working. You will also learn about anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, patient assessment techniques, therapeutic interventions and record keeping and documentation techniques. You will gain hands-on experience through laboratory sessions which include simulated clinical settings as well as actual clinical settings at area hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.
